Bible school

Our Lord’s Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20 does not end with the idea of proclaiming the Gospel, but with ‘…and make disciples of them’. One can picture the whole picture as follows: the Gospel is proclaimed, people come to faith, are baptised and join a church, and become disciples and co-workers in the Kingdom of God. Only in this way is the Great Commission fulfilled.

In the newly established churches in Bolivia, this has been recognised, and several years ago they began to put it into practice by running Bible courses in collaboration with Bolivienhilfe. This has developed into a Bible school. At present, around 40 students are taking part. Classes take place every Tuesday evening and last for three months. After a break, the next three months follow, meaning the class has Bible lessons for six months of the year. In addition, there is homework such as reading books and practical involvement in the churches. The participants come from five different churches.

    Our prayer requests:
  • That the Bible students may become good workers in the churches. Some have been involved for a long time.
  • A new church is to be built in Manitoba. Here, our brothers and sisters in the faith are facing enormous opposition. Pray for the young believers that they may remain steadfast and boldly confess their Lord.
