Things used to be different. For the first time, a weekend retreat was organised on the grounds of the Bolivienhilfe with the youth group from Horizonte. All the boys stayed in a large tent, whilst the girls slept in a large room. Meals were cooked over a fire and on hot coals, and everyone had a great time. The theme of the retreat was ‘Where true happiness can be found’. The answer was – in God. Lasting, enduring happiness, even amidst life’s storms, can only be found in God.
Singing, games on the grounds and a water fight also made the young people happy. On Sunday afternoon, everyone left the grounds a little tired but content, and set off on the return journey in high spirits.
