Radio work; new station in Hohenau
In September, a new radio tower will be erected in the Hohenau colony. It is the third radio station run by our radio group, which is called ‘Der Wegweiser zum Frieden mit Gott’ (The Guide to Peace with God). Abbreviated to Radio WFG, or simply ‘Der Wegweiser’.
The new congregation in Hohenau is the organisation behind this project. The signal from this radio tower reaches around 20 settlements in eastern Bolivia. The settlements south of Santa Cruz can hear us via the ‘Las Brechas’ radio station in the Sommerfeld settlement. And the radio station in the Horizonte settlement covers the exact midpoint between these two. This provides good coverage of the radio waves, enabling us to reach many people with the Gospel.
The radio programmes run 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Much of it is automated and runs via the internet. Radio Segenswelle is a great help to us in this regard, as that is where we source many of our programmes. We now produce quite a few programmes ourselves. Every day, a Low German sermon is broadcast from a local congregation. Every day, two short devotions are recorded and broadcast by our elders here. Once a week, Hermann Friesen presents the local news. And every week we broadcast the Low German programme ‘Von aules woot’ (which translates as ‘a bit of everything’ in High German), and every other week the ‘News from Israel’. The ‘Goodnight Story’ is an interesting programme for children, without which many children now refuse to go to sleep. Evangelistic meetings are broadcast live, and so on.

Our needs and concerns are:
- to erect a taller mast in Sommerfeld. With the current one, we cannot reach the outermost settlement beyond La Gracia, our new parish.
- In Horizonte, we are looking for a more powerful transmitter.
Thank you for all your financial and prayer support in spreading the Good News.
