Ever since a number of families in the Manitoba colony have come to a living faith, they have had to expect persecution. Attempts are being made to drive the young believers out of the villages. Furthermore, the villagers are trying to prevent our missionaries from reaching the village where the Bible study sessions take place. For example, a path has been cut off by a ditch and a fence. Now we have to take a long detour to serve our brothers and sisters with the Word of God.
Wherever the Gospel touches hearts, changes take place. It is wonderful to witness the hunger for the living Word of God that is found here. Even the children are attentive listeners. Nor does it bother anyone that the meetings take place in a smithy. The love for the Lord and for the brothers and sisters drowns out even the annoying mosquitoes and vermin, and the rain pounding loudly on the tin roof.
