Young Christians in Bolivia remain under pressure. Recently, an attempt was made to abduct a young elder. On his own field, he was forcibly pulled off a running combine harvester and shoved into a car. With great difficulty, he managed to escape.
One of the reasons for this was that the young congregation in Hohenau had granted asylum to two young people, and naturally the congregation elder is blamed for all this ‘evil’. The two had fled from an old colony because they were in danger of being beaten with hydraulic hoses. Such actions sometimes come at a cost.
But fundamentally, the whole thing is directed solely against the Gospel. As long as a person in a traditional old colony merely sins along with the world, not much happens. But if they are converted, then every effort is made to ‘bring them to their senses’.
Our prayer requests:
- For the young church leaders who face enormous challenges.
- For young people in the old colonies. Time and again, young people leave those places and seek protection and guidance for their lives
