Following two trial broadcasts of evangelistic meetings in 2017, it was decided to make the radio work a permanent project. At present, it is the best way to spread the Gospel. The project is run by the Sommerfeld congregation and Bolivienhilfe, with support from the AGUM congregations in Germany. At present, the 70-metre-high mast is already in place. This is intended to provide an internet connection, and the broadcasting antenna will be fitted to it to reach the surrounding area with the Gospel. A multi-purpose building is currently being constructed next to the mast. One room in this building is to house the radio equipment, whilst the other rooms will be used for school classes.
In 2018, the radio work at Las Brechas (Sommerfeld) continued. The technical equipment (tower, aerial, transmitter, etc.) is now up and running. In May, we received significant support from SW-Radio Detmold. Viktor Sawatzki came to conduct a training session for radio staff, explain the computer programming and help set everything up.
The radio station ‘Radio las Brechas’ is becoming an important branch of our evangelistic work. Consequently, a number of brothers were trained in this work during a training course.
