Manitoba – the situation is easing somewhat

Following several difficult rounds of negotiations, the situation in Manitoba is now easing somewhat. Meetings have been convened to discuss the future of the new community. At the last round of negotiations, many men from both sides had gathered. Lawyers mediated the deadlocked situation. In the end, a decision was reluctantly reached (on the part of the old settlers) to allow the young Christians from two villages to establish a settlement. In effect, this involved swapping their houses and land. They will also be permitted to build a church and a school there. Legally speaking, no other outcome could have been expected, as the law protects freedom of religion.

The young Christians remain faithful to their Lord, who has redeemed them.

    Our prayer requests:
  • Please continue to pray for them so that they may grow in faith and the congregation may increase.
  • A mission is planned with the ‘Bolivienhilfe’ Caravana to Manitoba to visit the young congregation and provide healthcare support to schoolchildren and others.
