Mission work in the old colony of ‘Fresnillo’
We from the new congregation ‘Sommerfeld’ went on a mission to the old colony ‘Fresnillo’ on 6 January 2020. As it was a long journey, we stopped for lunch on the way.
There is not yet an active congregation there made up of believers. However, there are people in this old colony who are curious and keen to listen to the Word of God.
Through the work of Betesda, we were able to establish contacts there. I, Herman Friesen, work here at Betesda, and so my uncle kept coming to me with his troubles, telling me many things about his life; and so we asked him if we could come and sing there, and he agreed. We’ve already carried out three visits there; unfortunately, it’s a long way from Santa Cruz – around 250 km – which means there’s a gap that needs a missionary to fill. The people there are hungry for the Word of God – not just my uncle, but others too.
A choir from Sommerfeld went there to sing. Daniel Dörksen also came from the ‘Horizonte’ new settlement and preached there, and I, Herman Friesen, gave my testimony. It was a blessed time; glory to the Lord.
