My name is Andreas Giesbrecht and I was born in Bolivia on 18 February 2003, the youngest son of Peter and Anna Giesbrecht.
As a missionary’s child, I grew up with the Bible stories and the Gospel. During a youth retreat in January 2021, at the age of 17, I was able to make a conscious decision to follow Jesus Christ. In the same year, I was baptised at the Horizonte congregation. I am still actively involved there today, leading the singing and participating in the congregation’s choir.
I have been working at Bolivienhilfe since July 2022. What began as the ‘Arche’ project has, over time, developed into a varied and responsible role.
My duties include managing and processing invoices, handling banking matters and carrying out other administrative tasks. In addition, I organise purchases, take care of sourcing materials and assist with practical work on the mission grounds. Vehicle maintenance, caretaker duties and various transport and courier services also fall within my remit.
Another key focus of my work is looking after short-term missionaries from Germany. I assist them with the necessary formalities and support them with visa matters, identity documents and other administrative procedures, so that they can carry out their ministry in Bolivia without any problems.
In May 2025, I had the privilege of marrying my wife, Helena Klassen. Since then, we have been serving together at the mission and are delighted to be able to serve God side by side. It is our desire to use the gifts and abilities God has given us to contribute to the spread of the Gospel and to serve the people of Bolivia with love and dedication.
