Hello, my name is Linda Falk, I am 21 years old and have been serving my God here in Bolivia since January 2019.
How did this come about?
The end of my vocational training was in sight and, for the first time, the thought occurred to me that spending a year on the mission might be God’s next step for me. However, this thought was so new that it initially caused me to feel uncertain; at times, I even pushed it aside. But after a period of prayer, with my parents’ consent and following further discussions and words of encouragement, I took the plunge and signed up for a voluntary social year. During the preparation period, I also noticed very clearly how God opened one door after another, thereby confirming to me that I had done the right thing.
Another wonderful sign of His guidance was that I was offered a six-month contract at the company where I’d completed my apprenticeship, which meant I could arrive here just in time for the start of term in January 2019.
The plan was for my stay here to last a year, but God had other plans! After just half a year of service, He showed me that He wanted to use me here for longer. He laid it so heavily on my heart that I had to submit to His will!
I am delighted to be able to serve God here at the Horizonte colony! I work as a teaching assistant at the school and teach children in Years 1 to 8 in maths, German and music. I also get to teach girls and boys to play the piano and guitar on the side, and help out with the music ministry in the church.
I am delighted that God can use me here and that He intends to continue doing so for His glory, probably until November this year!
I can do ALL THINGS through Him who strengthens me, CHRIST.
