My name is Lara Noemi Hübert, I am 18 years old and come from the Mennonite congregation in Bielefeld, specifically the Milse branch. I have been in the Morgenland colony in Bolivia since August 2024. Here I have the opportunity to serve as a teacher at the school in Campo 7 for about a year. I teach Year 2 in the subjects of German, social studies, natural history and Bible studies.
Having grown up in a Christian home, I learnt to love the stories from the Bible from an early age. At the age of six, following an
evangelistic meeting, I gave my life to God. Since then, I have been able to get to know God better and better and to trust in him.
When I had to decide what I wanted to do after my A-levels, I often considered spending a year abroad. I have always been fascinated by stories of missionaries, and when I learnt about the opportunity to do a short-term mission trip to Bolivia, I began to seriously consider this option. Through much prayer and discussions with my parents and friends, God finally showed me that going to Bolivia was the right step for me.
I thank God that He can be powerful in my weakness, and I pray that He will use me in a blessed way in my ministry
here. My aim is to be an instrument in God’s hands and to allow Him to guide me.
‘But let them be sufficient in my grace; for my power is made perfect in weakness.’
2 Corinthians 12:9
