My name is Daniel Klippenstein. I come from the congregation in Barntrup and was fortunate enough to grow up in a Christian home. I had the privilege of growing up in the congregation and taking part in children’s sessions, the children’s group, youth group and everything else that is part of church life. Following an evangelistic meeting, I came to faith whilst still at primary school and have been living a life with Jesus ever since. At times, life with Jesus became a bit of a routine, and I was able to realign myself with Jesus during my teenage years and again in my youth. I am very grateful to the Lord that I was able to start going on building missions and providing humanitarian aid in areas of need at a fairly early age. You actually go somewhere to help someone, but somehow you come back feeling so blessed and uplifted. It is so wonderful that we are allowed to serve our God through simple things, such as simply travelling with humanitarian aid or providing practical support through building projects. Thanks to a scheme at my workplace, I have the opportunity to take more holiday. My wish was to dedicate this extra holiday to the Lord, so I asked in our church whether there was a possibility of going out onto the mission field for about two months. God closed some doors and opened others, so that I was to go to Bolivia for just under two months to help out as a caretaker at Arche. Now I get to do whatever needs doing here – from changing light bulbs and tending the garden to doing a bit of bricklaying and tiling. I am very grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him in this way.
