Andreas Braun

Hello, my name is Andreas Braun, I am 18 years old and, together with Benjamin, I am spending a year as a teacher at the Morgenland colony.

How did this come about?
This year I completed my A-levels. Whilst studying for them, I read the book *No Compromises* by David Platt. This book got me thinking, amongst other things, about mission. However, I initially applied for an apprenticeship and put the idea on the back burner. Some time later, Benjamin approached me and asked if I would go abroad with him for a year. As I – just like him – hadn’t yet found an apprenticeship, I began to give this idea more serious thought. I had discussions with my parents and also with staff from the church. We prayed about it a great deal and then decided to go down this path. Now we’re in Bolivia and are able to help out here at the school.

As a teacher, I teach German and music to Year 1, music to Years 2 and 3, and remedial German to Years 4 and 5, with two pupils in each class. On top of that, I teach one hour of PE a week to Years 6 and 7 together.

Here are a few more prayer requests:
  • Patience and love for the pupils
  • Wisdom in the remedial lessons
  • To be a good witness in the church and amongst young people
  • To keep my eyes open to others
