Hello, dear brothers and sisters,
my name is Benjamin Epp and I have been a short-term volunteer at the Morgenland colony for almost a year (July 2019 – June 2020), supported by my home congregation, the Milse Mennonite Church in Bielefeld.
When, after a lengthy search for a training placement for 2019, I was unable to secure a position, I spoke to Andreas Braun – who also had no training placement for that year – to ask whether he could envisage spending a year abroad with me, supported by the congregation. Following the guidance of our wonderful God, our parents’ consent and the completion of some formalities, we are now here as teaching assistants at the school in Morgenland.
I teach maths and German to the first, second and third year pupils. Having patience with the children is a constant subject of our prayers. We are also actively involved in the church and youth groups, and we ask for your prayers that we may be role models who pass on the joy found in Christ to others.
