Hello, my name is Jan Hooge, I am 24 years old and will be working as a teacher in the Hohenau colony for about half a year.
After completing my degree in mechanical engineering at the end of 2019, I didn’t immediately find a suitable job, so I asked God what His plan was for me.
After a prayer meeting, a brother from the church approached me and mentioned a mission abroad. I saw this as a sign from God and prayed that He would guide this matter. God opened doors, and that is how I ended up here in Bolivia.
Here at the school, I mainly teach ‘Language’ and ‘Reading’, as well as Bible studies, general knowledge and art and crafts. I also take part in church and youth events, and my hope is to be a role model and a blessing to others there.
I would be grateful for your prayers that I may fulfil my duties well and that God may be glorified through my service.
